Today Kerry and Brian (the people we are house sitting
for) came back. We were all really happy to see them, they’d been caravanning
around Australia and had had a great time. They brought us back presents! They
made us a personalised coin saying ‘thank you for looking after us from Sealy
and Temperance’, it’s gorgeous! It’s really thoughtful as well because it’s
small and light enough to transport round with us.
They generously took us swimming, it was great
to be able to swim outdoors (it was 35 degrees!) We were surprised how empty
the pool was, but I guess everyone was at work/school at 1pm on a Wednesday..
but still I swear in England if it was 35 degrees everyone would be in that
pool, work or not!
They then took us out for a fantastic meal, we had the
Australian fish Barramundi – it’s delicious. They also taught us something
really important: if you're with someone else at a restaurant which offers a deal if you have two courses, but you can’t decide which two courses to
have, do this: one of you order a starter and main, and the other order a main and
pudding, and then share your starter and pudding! I swear my mind hasn’t been
so blown since I left university..
So Tanbay and I shared cheesy garlic bread for a starter, both had the barramundi for a main and had this gorgeous waffle for desert!
